Ian Thomas, President Boeing Australia and South Pacific, says Australian passengers are keener to make it to New York in 12 minutes than sitting in a proposed “invisible” concept plane from Airbus.
“Invisible airplanes and see-through airplanes are all very interesting, but I’d rather get to New York in 12 minutes,” Mr Thomas told the Australia Israel Chamber of Commerce.
But he concedes that building such a plane may not be economical. “The technology is there, we could build it (a supersonic aeroplane), but we couldn’t sell it.”
